This West Coast AC training schedule is specifically designed for training towards the 2019 Comrades and Two Oceans marathons. However all runners are welcome to participate, these training runs are suitable for those training for shorter distances too, there are shorter and longer distances on the club runs. Runners can also do half of a run, then hop into a support vehicle and a runner in the vehicle can hop out and do the second half, thus alternating between running and supporting.
Anybody not running are encouraged to help with support on the longer routes, usually at least two crews in separate vehicles are required to cater for faster and slower runners with refreshments and supplies, and of course act as a “bail bus”.
