The Batrun is held annually on a late February or early March night around full moon for those that enjoy the magic of the mountain at night with a group of like-minded folks. Non-competitive, party-mood, good time to be had by all.  The event is the only night run/walk within Table Mountain National Park. The challenge of this event is to ascend the three summits(Devil’s Peak, Maclear’s Beacon and Lion’s Head) in an atmosphere that exists on the mountain at night, above the city.  To be issued your race number for the BATRUN, runners will have to present themselves in person, along with a with a Photo ID and all mandatory equipment which will be checked at registration. Tokyo Marathon Website... Tokyo is an exciting and fascinating city with great nightlife. The Tokyo Marathon 2019 is generally a flat course and extremely popular with runners from all corners of the globe, especially since they became a member of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. It is the largest marathon in Asia and one of the largest in the world with approx. 37,500 participants. The course is a sightseeing tour of Tokyo. With big crowd support, taiko drums, kimono dancers, and brass bands it has a festival atmosphere. The Marathon time limit is 7 hours with checkpoints and cut off times en-route. Kilimanjaro Marathon, Tanzania

Kilimanjaro Marathon Website... Tanzania This famous marathon takes place on the last Sunday in February/March every year in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in the little town of Moshi. The marathon course is a 6.5 mile loop and runners completing the full marathon repeat the same course four times. As the Kilimanjaro Marathon is the only marathon that does not invite any professional runners an amateur runner is guaranteed the win.

Rome Marathon

Rome Marathon Website... Starting and finishing close to the Colosseum this race takes you through the streets of historical Rome, which includes St. Peter's Square, Vatican City, Olympic Stadium, Piazzale Popolo and Trevi Fountain. A simple medical form must be completed by your Doctor and no qualifying race is required. The race usually attracts in excess of 14,000 runners, starts from 8.40am; there is a 7hrs 30mins cut off time. There is a supporting 4km Fun Run (RomaFun) which starts immediately after the marathon start. It's one of the biggest Fun Runs in Europe, expecting approx. 80,000 entries.

Mont Blanc Marathon, Switzerland

Mont Blanc Marathon Website... Distance of 42km coupled with a positive vertical gain of 2760m, and a 1704m vertical drop off. Limited to 2000 runners, this marathon is on mountain trails between 1000m and 2200m in altitude with a finish at 2000m. Starting from the centre of Chamonix (1035m) this 42km marathon is effectively a tough trail race.
