The ELE award is awarded quarterly and annually and is generously sponsored by ELE Trading. The ELE awards are intended to recognize the short-distance runners in the Club.

How it works

The quarterly award is given to the WCAC member who earns the most points at short-distance (up to 21.1km) races in the quarter. 

Points are awarded as follows:

• 10 points for every race run up to 21.1km
• 10 points for every Blouberg or Melkbos parkrun completed (points only allocated if member has indicated membership in the Club on their parkrun profile)

Bonus points are awarded at selected races in the quarter. For bonus races, members earn points equivalent to the distance of the race run (e.g., 15 points for a 15km race) and double points for a bonus 10km race (i.e., 20 points). 

For the annual award, all the races for the year are taken together, and the athlete with the highest points wins.
