Introduction to the Trail Running Championship & Ranking System
We are excited to introduce the Trail Running Championship and Ranking System to provide our runners with a new way to track their progress, challenge themselves, and earn recognition for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. This system has been designed to celebrate the achievements of all runners, regardless of experience level, and to create an environment where fellow trail runners can measure their performance against others of similar ability.
By implementing this championship, we aim to inspire healthy competition, foster a sense of community, and give our runners a tangible way to see how they are improving over time. Whether you are looking to challenge yourself or race against others with similar goals, the new ranking system offers a platform to motivate and push each other to new heights in the sport we all love.
We look forward to seeing all of you participate and succeed, and we hope this system will add a new layer of excitement to our trail running events!

Eligible Events for Championship Points Points can be earned from the following events:
- Club-sanctioned runs
- Trail races
- Challenges (Toad to Toad, Gone 4 Good, 13 Peak runs) and Segment challenges
- Cross Country Results
Championship Points Calculation
To calculate the championship points for the year, the following formula will be used for each trail run, race, or challenge:
- Elevation (in meters) ÷ 1,000
- Multiply the result by the distance (in kilometers).
- Divide the total by 10.
- Finally, divide the result by the total time taken to complete the run (in hours, minutes, and seconds).
Ranking System
The yearly ranking will be determined by dividing your total championship points by the current month number. For example, if you accumulated 90 championship points by the end of February, your ranking points for February would be:
90 / 2 = 45
Your ranking points will adjust each month based on the total points you have accumulated and the number of the month (January = 1, February = 2, etc.).
