Tuesday Crewsday with a Twist!
Summer sunset runs don’t get better than this! Join us for an evening of Run & Fun – and stay for a delicious Summer Tuna Steak, Fish & Prawn Braai while watching an epic sunset from the WCAC beachfront clubhouse.
It’s the perfect way to mix quick k’s with mouthwatering vibes. We’re expecting up to 200 fanatical runners, so make sure you don’t miss this one, it’s going to be one to remember!
Run Start Time: 6pm
When: Tuesday 18th November
Venue: WCAC
Braai: from 7pm+
How it works:
It’s time to chase and to be chased (all fun, of course!)
Starting in your batch where you can best achieve your 5km time… then we all finish together at more or less the same time (along with all other batches and +-200 runners)
So for planning purposes, please give club captain Wayne your best possible 5km time ahead of the evening’s fun!
If you wish to stay for the Tuna Steak, Fish & Prawn Braai, please also pre-book for catering purposes here.
Come and enjoy this evening along with your other Westies; guests are of course welcome!

Coach’s Tip – Finding Balance Over the December Holidays
December holidays can be challenging for runners trying to fit in training sessions without compromising on family commitments, social events, and all the other festive activities that fill the diaries at this time of year.
If you’ve chosen an early January event, it’s important to structure your training so you can be adequately prepared without putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. Balance is key – your plan should allow you to train effectively while still enjoying time with family, friends, and other responsibilities.
If you haven’t committed to an early race – or you’re planning to use any January events as a fitness check – take the opportunity to mix up your activities. Spend time with loved ones while maintaining a base level of endurance. Go for walks, hike on mountain or beach trails, or enjoy a round of golf or a casual game of tennis. Even playing outdoor games with family can keep you active and moving without the rigidity of a structured schedule.
If you do want to maintain some structured running, keep it simple:
Try short 30-minute sessions — a 5-minute warm-up and cool-down with 20 minutes of speed pick-ups or hill repeats in between. You can also work on speed through ball or racquet sports with family and friends — just remember that as runners, we’re not always used to sharp turns or quick directional changes, so take care of your knees and ankles.
Be active — but don’t stress about training!
Enjoy the season, keep moving, and come back refreshed and ready for the new year’s running goals.
